A guest on Good Morning Britain has slammed host Susanna Reid after she made a startling confession.
Reid, 53, returned to present the ITV morning news show with Ed Balls, 56, on Tuesday (February 21). During the programme, the pair spoke to Tom Lockyer, the captain of Luton Town FC, who recently received a promotion to the Premier League.
Last year, Lockyer, 29, suffered a cardiac arrest whilst on the pitch during a game against rivals Bournemouth. He received medical attention on the pitch before being rushed to hospital, but admitted that he had technically died for nearly three minutes as his heart stopped beating.

Speaking in his first live interview on the incident, Tom joined Susanna and Ed to talk about how terrifying the ordeal was. However the chat ended with a tongue-in-cheek spat with Susanna.
Ed had mentioned that he was a supporter of Norwich FC, another rival club to Tom’s Luton Town. In a bit of friendly football banter, Lockyer got a jibe in about the pair’s allegiances.
“I think if you’re a neutral party, you back Luton,” Tom explained. “Obviously, Ed, you’re not neutral – Susanna, what are you?”
Reid then confessed her team of choice as she muttered the name under her breath: “Crystal Palace”. Lockyer was shocked, before slamming the host: “Oh God, and I used to like you as well!”
Clearly red-faced, Susanna tried to salvage the remnants of the interview as she quipped: “Let’s not lose any love over this. I think we can put football rivalries aside this morning – I can at least, I don’t know about Tom!”
Elsewhere in the chat, Tom explained that ahead of the kick-off of the second half, he was not feeling particularly well.
“Bournemouth had just scored and it had been a couple of minutes so I wasn’t really exerting myself and then the game kicked off again as I made my way to the halfway line,” Tom recalled. “I jogged up about 10 yards and I remember feeling incredibly light-headed – and I remember thinking ‘Oh, I’ll be fine in a second’ – and that was the last thing I remember before waking up on the floor.”
Lockyer explained in the emotional interview how he was unable to move or speak once he did wake up, though he made a concerted effort to. When he was rushed to hospital, he was eventually fitted with a defibrillator, which is now inside his body.
As Ed and Susanna listened on in shock, Tom added that thanks to the medical team at the game, he likely would not be alive anymore. Emotions were running high towards the end of the interview and as a result, the hosts tried to finish the chat off in a more relaxed style.
Good Morning Britain airs every weekday at 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
