‘Heather from EastEnders’ wants to support Oasis on tour – as actress makes hilarious plea

The competition to support Oasis on tour is likely to be tight.

British bands would probably queue around the block to support the iconic Britpop group when they have their highly-anticipated reunion. But if Noel and Liam Gallagher want to get a bit more left field, they can rope in “Heather from EastEnders”.

Iconic soap actress Cheryl Fergison has issued a plea to the brothers on X, formerly known as Twitter. The star replied to a post asking Brits who they would most like to see support Oasis – throwing her hat into the ring.

“Me! Get in touch boys,” she said. “You couldn’t wish for a better Supernova while building up your wonder wall … it will be a proper Glory Day!”

The viral post has since garnered more than 110,000 views and hundreds of likes. Many admitted they were ‘rooting’ for Cheryl to land the dream gig.

“Now then, if Heather from EastEnders is the opening act I might be convinced to go,” one person joked. Another agreed, commenting: “Wishing you all the best of luck with that.” A third added: “I love her so much,” while a fourth penned: “Definitely Cheryl.”

Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have finally buried the hatchet to embark on the tour, called the Oasis 25 Live tour. Commenting on the comeback the siblings announced: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

The shows are also being billed as “their only shows in Europe next year” perhaps quashing rumours of a headline slot at Glastonbury festival in 2025 at least. It’s the band’s first gigs in 16 years with tickets going on sale at 9am Saturday, August 31 available from Ticketmaster, Gigs and Tours and Seetickets.

Here’s everything you need to know about the reunion, tour and ticket prices.
