Holly Willoughby and Mel B given warning as filming for new Netflix show begins

Stars taking part in Bear Grylls’ new Netflix show have been given stern warnings by producers as filming for the programme gets underway.

The show, titled Bear Hunt, will see a number of famous faces head deep into the Costa Rican jungle in an extreme test of their endurance. Some of the celebrities booked for the series include former This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby and ex-Spice Girl Mel B.

But as filming for the show kicks off this week, a number of warnings have been given to the stars to make sure they keep themselves healthy. This also includes keeping away from a slew of critters to avoid becoming deathly ill.

To help with the health and safety of the show, a medical team is going to be on hand 24/7. The stars will be keeping themselves company as they pitch up in the specially-made camp that was built for the show.

Bear Hunt has been tipped to be highly anticipated, and is set to rival ITV’s stalwart I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! However, the shows differ as Bear Hunt sees the celebrity stars being split into teams in an effort to foster competition between each other.

Giving some insider details on the show, a source close to the show said: “The Bear Hunt is not for the faint hearted and all the celebrities who have signed up know they’re going to be heading into the wild where it’s teeming with animal nasties. As well as snakes like the venomous hog-nosed pit viper and spiders like the black widow and brown recluse, the jungle is also teeming with bats which can spread rabies.

The insider added that health and safety has been by far the show’s main concern. “Naturally every precaution possible has been put in place by Netflix to ensure the safety of everyone working on the show, from the crew to the celebrities, but it’s a show which isn’t for the faint hearted,” they said.

Holly, who has slowly made her return to TV after abruptly quitting This Morning last October, has already landed in Costa Rica. The stars of the show are now making the most of their last moments in a luxury hotel before entering the jungle with adventurer Bear, 49.

Host Bear has already been hard at work filming for the show ahead of the celebrities going into the wilderness. He was papped paragliding on a beach, as production officially gets underway for the Netflix smash.

Amongst the other rumoured famous faces set to star on the show are Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Ballas, as well as former rugby legend Danny Cipriani. Amidst the production kicking off, the families of the celebrities have already started touching down in the Central American nation.

The loved ones are set to stay in a nearby hotel, and will remain there until their famous family member is given the boot from the show. The show itself will air next year, as Netflix continues to splash the cash to bag some well-known faces.
