Holly Willoughby ‘in the running’ for huge new I’m A Celeb-style Netflix show

Former This Morning star Holly Willougby is reportedly in the running to host a brand new Netflix show alongside British trooper, Bear Grylls.

According to The Sun, the 42-year-old has been approached about presenting the series, which will see a group of celebrities go up against Bear. If Holly is chosen to host the programme, it will become her first major role since she decided to leave This Morning back in October last year.

An insider told The Sun: “Bear is working with a production company for Netflix, they want Holly to host. A group of celebrities will be put into a jungle where they will have to tackle a series of challenges.

The source claimed that Bear is very excited about the show and to have Holly on board. They also added that Holly is a very “glamorous and an accomplished host”.

Back in 2018, Holly took on a jungle challenge by hosting ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! alongside Declan Donnelly. The presenting switch-up came after regular host Ant McPartlin stepped down that year.

Although it’s not yet known when the new series with Bear will hit screens, mother-of-two Holly will next be on TV hosting Dancing On Ice alongside Stephen Mulhern on Sunday (January 14). The show will be Holly’s first gig after an alleged plot to kidnap her led her to quit This Morning, which she had co-hosted for 14 years with Phillip Schofield.

Holly’s abrupt exit left viewers stunned at the time and forced ITV to come up with a new strategy for the show. Since Holly’s exit, This Morning has seen several new presenters take the reins. This includes Emma Willis and The Saturday’s Mollie King.

In October 2023, Holly released a statement on social media to confirm she would not be returning to the show. Parts of the statement read: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.

“To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.”
