‘Jennifer Aniston caused the craziest day of my life – it was a lot to wake up to’

JC Stewart had the “craziest day of his life” down to Friends icon Jennifer Aniston.

The Northern Irish singer-songwriter spoke exclusively to Daily ahead of his UK show in October. The star caught the attention of Jen after his parody of the Friends theme tune went viral.

Talking about his encounter with the Hollywood star, he said: “It was probably the craziest day of my life. Having her post about me and my phone going mental, it was a lot to wake up to at my parent’s house in the middle of Covid!”

JC Stewart describes his style as “professional sad boy” and is acclaimed for his emotive lyrics and captivating voice. Known for hits like “Like I Did,” “Bones,” and the viral “I Need You to Hate Me,” JC blends pop with a singer-songwriter charm.

His music has earned him a dedicated fanbase and notable collaborations, including co-writing with Niall Horan and Lewis Capaldi. When asked how he was feeling about his upcoming show, he said: “I’m super excited. The band and I have been working really hard on bringing something amazing together, and I can’t wait to show people. It really feels like the start of something cool.”

The singer is also lining up some new music as he puts on the “finishing touches” for his new track. He explained: “I have just put the finishing touches on the next piece of the puzzle. At my last label, it was really hard to release the music I wanted and so these next songs, I believe, are unequivocally me.

“I worked my a** off to be in a position to even get them out in the world and I am so proud of them. The next song is a song called BT45, which was the postcode of the town that I grew up in.

“It was a fairly private song that I wrote for me and my family after I’d spent 2 months at home in Northern Ireland over Covid and had an incredibly special time and really fell in love with my home properly for the first time. It’s been amazing seeing other Irish people, especially those who have moved away from home, connect with it online and I can’t wait to have it out.”
