‘Livid’ Jeremy Clarkson fan ‘storms out’ of star’s pub and vows to ‘never go back’

One furious Jeremy Clarkson fan stormed out of the Grand Tour star’s new pub after a gruelling journey.

Billy and his wife Emma, who religiously followed the TV star’s journey on Clarkson’s Farm, made the tiring three-hour journey from Southend in Essex to the Top Gear star’s new Cotswolds venture. But after a lengthy journey, the presenter has sadly lost the support of two dedicated fans.

Billy insisted he “will never go back” after waiting in line for 30 minutes to visit the eatery, which reportedly cost £1million. He claimed that another customer told him there was a sign by the door which read: “Due to maintenance, we are only able to serve bar snacks today.”

Speaking to Express Online, the customer revealed disgruntled fans were left up in arms after travelling from across the country and queuing to try the locally sourced food on the menu.

Billy told the outlet: “We arrived for lunchtime around 1pm and they let us all wait in line without announcing the kitchen was closed. Why not tell people before they stand outside for 30 minutes?”

He went on to share that the bar snacks in the establishment were “rubbish”, with the items on offer including “pickled eggs, four sausages on a plate with a dip, and scotch eggs which didn’t look good.” Billy fumed: “I was looking forward to trying a proper Lancashire hotpot, I didn’t drive all this way for pickled eggs.”

Meanwhile, the couple insisted there was “no mention” of the “lack of a proper menu” on their website. Further salt was added to the wound when Jeremy Clarkson failed to make an appearance on site.

He added: “After all that, it’s a very ordinary pub. Very average, I was totally underwhelmed. It wasn’t just me, several people in line just walked off furious as well. I definitely will not be visiting again, I’m livid.”

Other customers have left similar reviews on TripAdvisor, particularly outraged by the £2 parking charge. One punter called the visit a “rip off”, although the majority of the site’s reviews so far are positive.

One user gushed: “The menu is what you might expect from a good pub and it didn’t disappoint. The quality of ingredients was excellent and the hard-working staff were so welcoming and attentive.

“Of course, the beer and cider were wonderful, chilled and thirst quenching.” On the establishment’s website, Jeremy has described the Farmer’s Dog as more than “just a pub”, boasting the exceptional food in particular.

The description says it’s “the first Hawkstone filling station”, adding: “But it’s not just a pub. It’s also a restaurant.

“And in the garden, there’s a farm shop, and a butcher, and an off-licence, and a bar and an outpost where you can grab a fantastic meaty snack to enjoy on the lawns.” Daily Star has reached out to Jeremy Clarkson’s representatives for a comment.
