‘Louis Walsh’s brutal comments have affected my mental health after he ridiculed me’

Simon Gross has spoken out for the first time on his experience with ‘hypocrite’ Louis Walsh.

The former Big Brother housemate auctioned for The X Factor back in 2017 in front of judges Louis, Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger.

The Irish music manager, 71, brutally branded Simon “forgettable” at the time and his harsh words have stuck with him until present day eight years later.

After watching Louis brand fellow X Factor stars Jedward “vile” during his stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Simon has decided to share thoughts on the media personality – and didn’t hold back. He told Daily Star: “Louis is a hypocrite, They [Jedward] made him. When is enough going to be enough?

“Why is someone that benefits off the back of other successes constantly putting them down, publicly with vile comments in order to get attention? He’s a hypocrite, with his vile words. He is ultimately capitalising on a management career for himself and reaping the rewards from acts which he s involved with only to slate them throughout the years and indeed, in Jedward’s case 15 years later.”

Simon met Louis in the X Factor queue and says that he recognised him from his previous audition only to dismiss him later that day. He added: “Louis called me forgettable and told me he wouldn’t be putting him through. I felt ridiculed and put down by someone I held at the time in high regard. It’s just not necessary, it seems as though anyone Louis nurtures or auditions are publicly ridiculed years later following successes.”

“It is so sad to hear respected industry managers address previous clients in the way that Louis has whilst on Big Brother, I feel for Jedward and any other public figures that have suffered at the hands of Louis’ damning comments. I recently hosted Brian McFadden at my café in Newquay, who is a wonderful guy, another of Louis’s clients that has previously suffered.”

Simon went on to say that Louis time on Big Brother 2024 currently just seems “opportunistic” and has given him “the perfect platform to further ridicule people he’s represented”. He said: “Louis’ ghastly comments on the show currently are a desperate attempt to reignite his career and remain relevant whilst publicly slating the likes of Jedward who are really hard-working and talented lads, who’ve made Louis money and boosted his fame. It is such a shame to see them publicly suffer at the hands of someone who professes to be a professional.”

“Louis’ comments throughout my career have had an affect on my mental health, but I have not allowed that to stop me in my tracks.” Since being on shows such as X Factor and Big Brother, Simon has turned his hand to presenting as well as producing shows for the West End and is currently working on the new party show Divas London coming to London’s West End this Spring. Daily Star has reached out to Louis’ representative for a comment.
