Netflix fans ‘disgusted’ by ‘atrocious’ comedian with controversial TV show name

Netflix has come under fire over one controversial comedian’s TV special.

Joe Rogan’s Burn The Boats stand up show has been announced and is set to air on 3 August. The star has divided Netflix fans with many claiming that they will be boycotting his special ahead of its release.

X/Twitter was alive with conversation just a day after the Netflix trailer dropped for Rogan’s Burn the Boats. Someone posted: “Don’t really want to watch anything with a pseudoscience platforming idiot who also spreads general bigotry.”

Joe was blasted as “disgusting” as other people simply tweeted “heck no” after hearing about his new stand up material. “Joe Rogan has never been funny. I get why his podcast is successful but the comedy career has never made sense to me,” wrote another disappointed Netflix user as another added: “Man’s stand up is atrocious.”

In the comment section for the official Netflix trailer over on YouTube, many people also gathered to share their thoughts on the controversial comedian’s new project. Someone savagely typed: “Netflix gives anyone a special,” while another critic added: “Is..is Netflix trying to lose sub[scribers]?”

“‘Jokes folks, just jokes.’ I can guarantee there are no jokes in this thing,” quipped another unimpressed commenter. “Just because you say it loudly, doesn’t make it funny,” read another comment with a shocked emoji at the end.

Someone else even claimed that Netflix is “wasting money” supporting him while others complained that there “aren’t any jokes” used in the trailer, just “snippets of dialogue without context”.

Joe Rogan is an American podcaster who hosts The Joe Rogan Experience, a popular podcast which discusses current affairs, politics, philosophy and other topics with celebrity guest stars.

In recent years Rogan has come under fire for making controversial comments about Covid-19 vaccines, opinions on transgender athletes and remarks that have been considered as antisemitic.

Joe advocates for gun rights in the US and has been accused of having guests on his podcast who spread misinformation. He is also known for hosting the show Fear Factor from 2001-2006.
