Netflix reality show ‘fakery’ exposed after scene in Nicole Kidman’s new show

A Netflix show has been slammed as “fake” after eagle-eyed fans spotted a telling clue in Nicole Kidman’s new show.

Fans of the property show Buying London were forced to do a double take when tuning in for the Hollywood legend’s new hit, The Perfect Couple. Viewers couldn’t help but point out the striking resemblance between the famous estate agency office and the filming sets in the show.

One scene in the first episode of the new drama – which sees a lavish wedding end in murder – shows her character Greer Garrison chatting to her editor Enid Collins. During their call, Greer is seen on the beach strolling around while Adina Porter’s character Enid sits in her office.

But many fans were forced to press replay as they took a closer look at the glamorous office. The lavish space featured wall-to-ceiling glass windows with stunning views of the city spotted in the background.

Subscribers of the streaming giants quickly realised the cross over after internet sleuths pinpointed the identical scenes to those in the real estate reality series. Seeing as Greer’s book agent is based in the UK in The Perfect Couple, fans were left believing that Buying London is filmed on set and not in their real offices.

A source close to the Buying London production have hinted that all may not be as it seems. They told The Sun: “A different space was used as the office for Buying London.

“DDRE’s main office is a working space with many other staff who were not featured in the show, so the ‘cast’ conducted their work from the location you see in the show during production.” Earlier this year, Buying London was dubbed as the UK’s answer to the US reality show Selling Sunset.

It followed the life of millionaire property mogul Daniel Daggers and his estate agent team as they flog London’s most expensive homes. When the show first dropped, fans were quick to switch off.

Many branded the programme “scripted and boring” as they flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to complain online. One user penned: “Wow #buyinglondon is worse than I expected.

“It is so obviously scripted and boring, one episode is more than enough.” Another added: “I switched Buying London off at the photoshoot in the first episode, insufferable is not a big enough word for these clowns.”

Buying London features several notable faces in the show. The most recognisable being S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens’ ex-husband Alex Bourne and Sky Sports beauty Olivia Wayne.
