Kesley, 69, said: “Frasier is a love story and I am happy we will be allowed to continue it. I can’t wait for the fans to see what we have in store.”

Execs commissioned another series after its revival last year was popular around the globe. The new series will stream on Paramount+.

And with fans happy to see another series commissioned, Jeff Grossman, executive VP programming at Paramount+ said he’s also excited to see the return of protagonist Kelsey. In a statement, he said: “Kelsey made a triumphant return as one of the most iconic and beloved characters on television.

“The new series introduced Fraiser to a whole new generation while reminding fans of Kelsey’s truly timeless portrayal of Dr. Crane. We’re so excited to see what the creative team and superb cast serve up for season two.”

The news comes after Nicholas’ former co-star David Jason admitted that they’re not as close as they once were. The well known double act starred alongside each other on BBC’s award-winning comedy, Only Fools and Horses from 1981-2003.

But after rumours began to swirl that there was a rift betwen the pair, David, who is appearing on The Repair Shop spinoff, David & Jay’s Touring Toolshed ,addressed the matter. He said: “He’s much more – how can I say? – self-contained, perhaps, than he used to be.

“So, unfortunately, we don’t see each other as much as I would like to. But that’s how things work out sometimes,” the actor confessed.
