In an endearing moment from Our Farm Next Door, Clive Owen opened up to viewers about the changes on his farm, admitting, “I am getting old” and highlighting the importance of passing duties to his offspring.
“We are cutting grass today. Now is our time, but the weather has been very unsettled,” he shared, hinting at making the most of the moment despite erratic weather patterns and adding, “It is saying we might have three fine days, so we are having a go.”
The episode saw Miles, one of Clive’s sons, tackling the task of grass cutting for the “first time.” Clive commented on the complexity of the job, “It is quite complicated, especially on these awkward fields,” and expressed his joy in handing over the reins: “It is something I have always done, and it’s lovely that I am not doing it. So, I am just telling him off and he is fed up of me already,” he laughed, sharing the light-hearted family interaction.

Leeds Live captured a teaching moment as Clive advised Miles, “Turn across, just be careful here. Down, down, watch what you’re doing,” Reflecting on his children assuming more control, Clive remarked: “They’re grown-up these lads, and it’s good for them to take over these jobs. Miles is a young man now so, the mowing is for him.”
In an emotional finale, Clive Owen from the popular series reflected on his personal journey and the inevitable change of guard, stating candidly to the camera: “The kids grow up and become men. I am getting older, and I am not as strong as I used to be so yeah, it is good that these young guys take over.”
He continued with impactful musings on legacy, “It’s time to pass on the baton and let them do more and more and that is how it is. I am here to watch over them and annoy them, and we will get there in the end.”
While fans had a heavy heart bidding farewell to the current series after Amanda Owen confirmed its conclusion on X, spirits were lifted with news of the family’s return in the upcoming New Year. Amanda prompted viewers with her post: “It’s been a manic Monday so this is a late reminder that at 9pm you need to tune in to More4 for the last episode of Our Farm Next Door.”
She added: “If you miss it or forget then you can do the catch up thingy on All4.” Viewers shared their disappointment online, one fan lamented, “Really gutted as was enjoying watching this,” while another expressed their feelings saying: “Ah so sad it has finished, it relaxes me so much just watching the programme.”
