Skins star flogging naked snaps to fund one-woman play in huge career move

Skins favourite Megan Prescott is giving acting another go with her upcoming one-woman show at the Edinburgh Fringe festival which she funded by selling racy snaps.

The 32-year-old beauty first shot to fame in the noughts as a child star alongside her identical twine Katie Finch in the teen drama. Loyal fans will know the dynamic duo often shared the screen with Kaya Scodelario and Nicholas Hoult.

Her highly anticipated show is based on her own experience of fame and follows a fictionalised version of herself on the main stage. The play is focused on an actress whose career “peaked” in 1009 but wants to give acting “one last shot”.

To pay for the show, Megan admitted she would sell 10 completely naked pictures on her OnlyFans site, the popular X-rated content site she joined during the pandemic. Ahead of her opening night, she told Edinburgh Evening News: “I’m delighted to be able to use my OnlyFans platform to raise awareness of my Edinburgh show.

“Plus I really do need the money the pay for producing the show. Even selling these limited-edition images will only raise half the money needed to put on a month-long show.”

In the show, titled Really Good Exposure, Megan plays the role of Molly, with the audience meeting her later on down the line when she realises her career failed to meet the dizzying heights of her initial fame. Approaching her 30s, Molly turns to the adult industry to keep food on the table when her acting work dries up.

Speaking about the show, Megan gushed: “I am immensely proud to use my own lived experience of these industries to highlight the inconsistencies of how we treat workers based on outdated societal stigma and our own internal bias.

“We’ve been inundated with portrayals of sex work in the media, often in projects that had absolutely no input from sex workers themselves. We’ve also seen a number of news stories and documentaries come out recently which highlight the ugly side of the acting industry, but actors aren’t often able to speak out for fear of being ostracised and losing work.”

Before she joined the X-rated site, Megan previously worked as a stripped in her early 20s and was worried fans would recognise her from her role on Skins. She previously told The Sun: “I was terrified when I was first doing stripping that it would ruin my acting career but, you know what, at that time I was first doing stripping that it would ruin my acting career but, you know what, at that time I wasn’t getting a whole lot of acting work.”

Throughout the pandemic, Megan was able to use her role in the Channel 4 show to her advantage when she joined OnlyFans to keep her afloat when the arts industry took a hit. She told the publication back in 2022: “If it wasn’t for OnlyFans, I wouldn’t have been able to survive the last two years without working seven days a week in menial jobs.”

Megan starred alongside her twin sister Kathryn (Emily Fitch) in Skins which aired from 2007 to 2013. It didn’t take long before the show became a huge success and launching the careers of many actors including Dev Patel (who played Anwar Kharral) and Daniel Kaluuya (‘Posh’ Kenneth).
