A Sky News host has been praised by viewers after their live report was interrupted by a vulgar outburst from a member of the public.
The 24-hour news channel was back on screens on Monday (June 17) with political Sam Coates on hand to share the latest news. The journalist was on the campaign trail for the General Election.
But things took an awkward turn, as while talking live to the camera, a member of the public interrupted Sam. A man could be seen running into the shot – leaving Sam speechless.

The man then screamed a vile and foul-mouthed phrase which was ultimately picked up by Sam’s microphone. The member of the public said: “F**k her right in the face p***y.”
Startled, Sam tried to continue with his live link – but Sky bosses were quick to drop the audio from his reporting completely. The awkward clip soon made its rounds online.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, plenty of viewers rallied around Sam. Reacting to the shock scene, one person said: “Sam is a constant professional and a man of honour.”
Someone else added: “Brilliant Sam…both your report and the fact you didn’t miss a beat.” A third penned: “How two men could be so different.”
Another chimed in on the social media platform and penned: “Is this a Sky News thing? I mean what the actual.” JourSam himself reacted to incident later on in the evening. On X, he reposted a clip of his Sky News video. He captioned it with a man shrugging his shoulders emoji.
It comes just days after a child dropped the F-bomb live on Sky News. Scotland Correspondent Connor Gillies was left stunned after the child made the blunder.
At a a pub in Dunfermline before a football match kicked off, Connor pointed his microphone towards the child, who blurted out: “F*** you Germany.”
The reporter quickly pulled the microphone away and tried to walk off. He then remarked: “Oh dear, apologies for that language.”
