Fans of The Chase were left gobsmacked after a player received a record-breaking offer.
During Friday’s episode of the hit ITV programme (January 19), presenter Bradley Walsh returned with a brand new set of contestants. Little did they know, they were about to be presented with a whopping six-figure cash offer from Chaser Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis.
Kim was first up to take on the quizzing challenge and managed to gain £5,000 in her cash builder round. But when faced with Darragh, fans at home and host Bradley was stunned to see what he had to offer.

If Kim was to go high, she could have potentially brought back £100,000 for her team. After seeing such a high number being offered so soon, Darragh reminded the team that this was the “highest offer ever” seen for a player.
Gobsmacked, Bradley also agreed that he had “never seen this ever”. But Kim wasn’t swayed and decided to stick to the £5,000 she earned in her cash builder round.
Seeing Kim back out, fans at home had quite a lot to say about it all. Taking to X formerly known as Twitter, one viewer said: “£100k…. How do you turn that down??”
Another said: “What are you doing? Take the 100k!” And a third chimed: “Are you insane not going for 100k????”
Darragh then tried to tempt Kim by telling her that the £100,000 would be the highest offer he’d make during the show, any other high offer would be lower. But although Kim did look like she wouldn’t mind going for it, she decided to play it safe.
But unfortunately for Kim, although she decided to stick with her £5k, she was still caught by the Chaser who was on top form. The unlucky streak appeared to continue for the team, as player number two Owen was also caught by Darragh.
Although player number three Georgina did manage to gt through with £4,000, it was the final player Perry who left fans on edge. Perry only managed to scrape through his case builder by earning £1,000.
But when going head to head with Darragh, Perry opted for the higher offer of £88,000. Fans at home didn’t think Perry was able to get through to the final but were left in a state of shock when he managed to do it.
Despite the team’s unexpected luck near the end of the show, it didn’t last long. After Perry and Georgina answered 14 questions between them in the final chase, it was enough as Darragh was able to defeat them with seconds to spare.
