This Morning fans worry as Cat Deeley shares husband’s ‘mystery’ health battle

This Morning viewers were quick to show their support for host Cat Deeley as she got candid about her hubby’s health woes.

While presenting the show with Ben Shephard, the pair delved into a chat about shingles, particularly its impact on the over 50s crowd. Cat revealed that her other half Patrick was clueless about having caught the nasty bug – initially blaming it on their home renovations.

She shared: “He thought he’d touched his face. He’d got this burning, tingling, stinging sensation, so that’s what he thought it was.”

“A few days later you can start to develop a blotchy rash and then that develops into fluid-filled blisters, which start to crust over and scab away.” Cat added: “They can be on the trunk of your body? [Patrick] has got them on his face, actually!”

Sara confirmed that the blighters could crop up “anywhere” – including in the genital area. Concerned fans didn’t waste a moment before hitting up social media to share their two pence, sending love to Cat and Patrick.

The segment wasn’t without its hiccups, as This Morning experienced a technical glitch when Dr Sara’s earpiece made a bid for freedom. Ben didn’t miss a beat, alerting her with a chuckle: “Sara, your earpiece has popped out and it’s looking like some sort of alien. You need that so they can tell you where we are!”

Dr Sara expressed her gratitude for the heads-up, while Ben kept the mood light, assuring her: “We’re all on time at the minute, don’t worry!”
