This Morning viewers have blasted the ITV show after they gave a heartfelt tribute to Michael Mosley.
The much-loved TV doctor, 67, had gone missing whilst holidaying on the Greek island of Symi last week. Following an extensive search across the whole island, Mosley’s body was found close to the Agia Marina beach in the north of the island on Sunday (June 9).
As a television doctor, Michael made several appearances on many big TV shows including This Morning – as he advocated the benefits of ketogenic diets and intermittent fasting. So, as This Morning came to air on Monday (June 10), hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were particularly bereft as they welcomed viewers in for another edition of the show.

Ben and Cat opened the show: “We’re gonna start the show by paying tribute to doctor Michael Mosley, who actually was here on the show several times. Tragically, his body was found yesterday after that five-day search on the Greek island of Symi.”
Later on in the opening, the pair spoke to reporter David Blackmore, who said that he – along with local Greek reporters – had helped to discover the body. He explained that after an interview with mayor Eleftherios Papakalodoukas, they spotted something strange in the background when looking back at the footage.
“I spoke to the mayor, as well as a couple of Greek TV journalists – and he took us out in a water taxi that runs from Pedi into this marina,” David recalled. “And it was here where we actually turned around and looked back to take some footage of the marina, but me and a cameraman spotted something that was dark and unusual.
“At first we couldn’t identify what it was,” he added. “It was only when we took that footage back to Pedi, we zoomed in and continued to zoom in and soon we recognised it was a male body; and at that point, the mayor contacted all the relevant authorities.”
As David continued to go into detail about how he had a role in finding the missing doctor, some fans watching the show were horrified at the blatant disregard for concern the show had. Many took to social media to vent their frustrations, calling the show out for its lack of decency.
“Another media outlet unnecessarily showing insensitive footage of the Dr Mosley tragedy,” penned one disgruntled viewer. “Very disrespectful and showing no thought for his family and friends, how would they feel if it was one of their loved ones?”
A second added: “These news outlets are so ghoulish – let’s go visit where he’s died, let’s take photos of his body where he died, let’s take a photo of his stretcher. Leave the family to grieve.”
Similarly, a third viewer said they were confused at the amount of attention the case had been receiving. “The poor man has died – do we need tv shows picking over the details?” she asked.
