The Inbetweeners is fondly remembered for the embarrassing but hilarious exploits of the four protagonists.
But it was not just the socially awkward mates (Jay Cartwright, Will McKenize, Simon Cooper and Neil Sutherland) who made the show – which first aired 16 years ago – a comedy classic.
Below we highlight four other characters who also provided unforgettable moments of their own – despite getting less screen time.

‘Feisty One You Are’ (Jayne Wisener)
First up we have Jayne Wisener who played Lauren Harris as the new girl on the ‘Field Trip’ episode.
Will McKenzie (Simon Bird), who took an instant liking to Lauren, famously shouted ‘feisty one you are’ in her face in a bizarre bid to impress her.
A concerned looking Lauren asked the ‘briefcase w****r’ whether he had aspergers after the cringe Yoda Star Wars impression.
The actress, 37, is now a mum-of-two who lives in Northern Ireland and she is currently starring in a comedy called ‘Sex In The City Hall’ at the Riverside Theatre in her hometown of Coleraine.
Jayne also played Johnny Depp’s daughter in the movie Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
And in a recent interview with London Beautiful Life, she said: “I always knew it was amazing. I am in the second season and I was such a fan of the first season. When I landed the role in The Inbetweeners I was so delighted with myself.
“I didn’t quite expect it to be the cult classic it has now become and years later there are generations later coming up to me saying ‘feisty one you are and I am like ‘ok’… It is mad, mad.”
Big John (John Seawood)
Big John (John Seawood) was a much-loved feature throughout the series and he first appeared on the crude sitcom when he offered to be friends (ooh friends) with Will – who later found his three mates.
His iconic moments include eating two yoghurts at once, sniffing his own armpits and refusing to give Jay (James Buckley) a burger until he said please.
Afterwards, the unhygienic teen told him: “My counsellor used to say that frustration often comes from wanting to be noticed.”
The unsung hero of The Inbetweeners continued his acting career after the show and appeared in the BBC’s Survivors and the Theresa v Boris drama documentary as Michael Gove.
He also portrayed Roland Totheroh in Doctor for Mr Chaplin and he has also performed in various stage productions.
Carli’s mate (Lily Lovett)
Carli D-Amato (Emily Head) was hard to forget – especially after a drunk Simon (Joe Thomas) spray painted her name on the driveway of her home in season one.
But throughout the series and subsequent films, Carli was often joined at the hip by best mate Rachel who was played by the actress Lily Lovett.
Rachel was sassy and had a real dislike for Simon and she had a key role in the ‘Night Out’ episode when Will tried to ‘pull’ her in a nightclub.
Lily now looks completely different and speaking to The Scottish Sun she said: “For a while I was spotted but now I look quite different and it reminds me how long it’s been.
“I had one guy cycle past the stop while I was sitting and he said bus w*****s. I don’t know if he recognised me. He was one of those little chavs on a bike that was 11 and had a lot to prove.”
After The Inbetweeners, Lily went on to star in Silent Witness and Cuffs and also landed a role in the film The Landlady.
French bloke (Vladimir Consigny)
Patrice had a cameo role in season two of The Inbetweeners for being Simon’s French exchange student.
He was popular for his shaggy locks and chocolate brown eyes and was invited to one of Will’s posh but pathetic dinner parties.
At the party, Neil (Blake Sutherland) asked the group: “How much lego can you stuff up your bum?”
Later that night the lads ended up going to a cooler house party where Patrice – whose real name is Vladimir Consigny – ended up in bed with Will’s crush Charlotte Hinchcliffe (Emily Attack).
He has since shaved his hair and he went on to star in TV projects like Sleeping Beauty, Genius and At Eternity’s Gate.
Vladimir often posts artsy photos on Instagram but fans are quick to remind him of his roots. Under one picture, somebody simply wrote: “Patrice Inbetweeners.”
