Zoe Ball has posed with her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show replacement Scott Mills.
Mills is taking over as the new captain of the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, stepping in after Zoe Ball announced her departure. Zoe touched fans when she shared her plans to leave the iconic morning slot on Tuesday, setting her final show date for December 20.
In new pictures, Zoe posed outside BBC headquarters wearing a black and white jumper as she smile and put her arm around Scott while they posed together. She styled her iconic blonde bob in loose curls and sported her iconic thick-rimmed glasses, while Mills took a casual approach with a white t-shirt, black trousers and a smart jacket.

However, Zoe is not bidding farewell to Radio 2 – with whispers of more details on her future projects soon to come. Excited doesn’t quite capture how Mills feels about his big move, as he shares: “Zoe and I have been such good friends now for over 25 years and have spent much of that time as part of the same radio family here at Radio 2 and also on Radio 1.”

“She’s done an incredible job on this show over the past six years, and I am beyond excited to be handed the baton.”
He goes full-on nostalgic saying: “It feels ever since recording my first shows as a kid for an audience of one, my mum, all roads since have led to this amazing opportunity. It really is a lifelong dream come true to follow in the footsteps of Sir Terry, Chris and Zoe to be the new presenter of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.”

Not one to miss a beat, Zoe chimes in with heartfelt words for her pal: “Scott and I go way back to our Radio 1 days, when he was doing early mornings before me. He’s been a close friend for years, and I’m beyond thrilled it’s him taking over the Breakfast Show.”
“Breakfast has always been his dream, and what a year he’s had – from racing around the world to his beautiful wedding to Sam. He’s not only a blooming brilliant producer but one of the best in radio. I can’t wait to tune in on the school run!”

In a shake-up of the schedule, Trevor Nelson will take over Scott’s weekday afternoon show, moving from his Rhythm Nation night slot from Monday to Thursday. DJ Spoony will step into Trevor’s vacated slot with The Good Grove now airing four nights a week instead of just Fridays.
Pop sensation Sophie Ellis-Bextor will take over the now available Friday night slot with her Kitchen Disco, which will now be extended to two hours, running from 9 to 11pm.
