Amanda Holden demands BGT install a trapdoor so judges can eject awful acts

Amanda Holden thinks a trap door to get rid of dodgy audition acts on Britain’s Got Talent would be great for the show – ‘it could have a big foam pit,’ said Amanda

Amanda Holden wants a trap door to be installed on Britain’s Got Talent so she can get rid of rubbish acts.

The judge thinks it would be a lot more fun than the buzzers and she thinks viewers would love it, too. She said: “We should have a trap door and be able to eject acts that are rubbish. It could have a big foam pit and then these people could fall through this hole into a foam pit… “you could do slo-mo cam. That would be great telly!”

Amanda loves some of the bonkers acts that audition for the ITV series. But there are some that she thinks are so terrible she would happily send them through a trap door.

She said: “It’s funny because we get so amused at the odd acts that we almost forget that our buzzers are there. But there are some where you’ll go, ‘Oh my God, what a waste of space, how did they get on the show…’”

There are going to be plenty of bonkers performers on the new series, which kicks off tonight at 7pm on ITV1.

Amanda said: “At the auditions, there were plenty of nutty, off-the-wall ones that didn’t deserve red buzzers. The producers pick and choose the acts so well. It’s a really good mix.”

The new series of Britain’s Got Talent continues on Saturday on ITV1, returning for its 18th series on Saturday with judges Cowell, Amanda , singer Alesha Dixon and former Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli.

TV duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly return to host the show, with social media star and musician KSI joining the panel as a guest judge.

This week, Simon labelled his fellow judge Amanda as the “Britain’s Got Talent queen” and also revealed singer Cheryl turned down a judging role on the show.

Cowell said of 54-year-old TV and radio presenter Holden, who has been on the judging panel since the first series, that the secret to her BGT success is that she “loves the acts”.

He explained: “That’s her, she honestly loves it. You know, every time I talk to her it makes me laugh because I say, ‘you are loving this, aren’t you?’. Because there are days where I’m knackered and there’s still an hour to go.

“And I’m like, wow, it’s been a long day, and she’s like, ‘yeah, but it’s brilliant, isn’t it?’. She is our Britain’s Got Talent queen and she deserves that crown.”
