Coronation Street fans were all in agreement after Kit Green made a significant “mistake” on the ITV soap, landing himself in the middle of a perilous feud.

Earlier this year, Corrie enthusiasts met the troublesome neighbours Lou (Farrel Hegarty) and her spouse Mick (Joe Layton). The pair wasted no time stirring up trouble in Weatherfield, already embroiled in their fair share of drama.

It has recently come to light that Kit was acquainted with the new arrivals, Mick and Lou, from his younger days. A revealing flashback episode shed light on the group’s murky history.

Viewers witnessed a youthful Mick and Kit embroiled in a violent confrontation, resulting in Mick’s incarceration. During this period, an affair blossomed between Kit and Lou, leading to the birth of Brody, who is now 16 years old.

The drama is heating up on Corrie

Fast forward to the present day, Kit is grappling with the revelation that he is, in fact, Brody’s biological father. It’s hardly surprising then, that the fierce rivalry between Kit and Mick persists, while Brody remains blissfully ignorant of his true parentage.

Last week, tensions escalated when Mick’s violent tendencies surfaced. He attacked P.C Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) with a baseball bat, resulting in Craig being rushed to hospital. Tragically, it was later disclosed that Craig had passed away, marking Colson’s departure from the soap.

On Wednesday’s (May 28) episode, Kit orchestrated a brutal prison attack on Mick, motivated by a thirst for revenge following Craig’s death.

Later, Kit admitted to his boss D.S Lisa Swain that he was responsible for arranging the attack. Viewers all said the same thing after Kit’s malicious act which put his job at serious risk.

The episode’s dramatic twist sparked a fierce reaction from viewers, who took to social media to express their outrage.

Many speculated that Kit’s malicious actions would ultimately lead to his downfall, with one fan stating, “Wonder if this will lead to the eventual downfall of Kit” Another echoed this sentiment, saying, “Kit only cares about number one #Corrie.”

The online backlash continued, with one user blasting, “You are an idiot Kit!” and another questioning the character’s decision to confess to his sergeant, saying, “Why would Kit own up to his sergeant about beating up Mick? He wouldn’t. He could lose his job.”

One more viewer chimed in, “Corrupt Kit and Mick are such horrible people, let’s hope they cancel one another out.”

As the tension between the two arch-rivals reaches a boiling point, viewers are left eagerly anticipating Friday’s episode, when they will discover whether Mick will retaliate or if Kit will escape the consequences of his violent actions.
