Katie Price is currently recovering from her newest surgical procedure, but the reality TV star recently pulled a “very risky” move which could negatively affect her health
Katie Price is taking big risks despite her recent surgery.
The reality TV personality has raised eyebrows among medical professionals and her family after undergoing another round of plastic surgery in Turkey. The mum-of-five was reportedly seen at a nightclub in Barnsley with a bandaged nose downing shots – not confirmed as alcoholic – just days after returning from an Istanbul clinic, where she had her ears pinned back, a ‘fox eyes’ procedure and a nose job.
Katie, who has been in the public eye for nearly three decades, is no stranger to cosmetic procedures and has admitted to having numerous surgeries over the years. The 46 year old has previously confessed to struggling with body dysmorphia and said “I feel so ugly” during a 2023 TV interview.
Despite pleas from her mother, sister, and former partners to stop her obsession with surgery, the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star continues. However, the latest concerns for Katie are not about her surgeries but her recovery process.
A video from South Yorkshire allegedly shows Katie wearing a black crop top that revealed her stomach tattoo, handing out shots to the crowd before downing one herself, reports the Mirror.
An insider spoke to OK! about the worries: “Katie’s had lots of surgeries so she tends to play them down, but they’re not all minor,” they said. “She has to undergo various types of anaesthesia and she’s doing it in a foreign country, far away from home. Everyone knows partying after surgery is a very bad idea.”
Medical advice typically given post-op calls for a five-week cool-off period following a nose job to let the body repair itself, steering clear of alcohol due to its healing-hampering effects and potential to cause infection-boosting swelling. Although there’s no confirmation Katie hit the booze, her post-surgery revelries might be classed as “strenuous” by some experts.
Gerard Lambe, a top surgeon and director of Reflect Clinic UK, has sounded the alarm over Katie Price’s recent appearance in Barnsley, warning that neglecting post-surgery care could lead to deadly consequences. He told The Mirror: “Katie runs the risk of exhausting her body’s potential to recover and experiencing wound breakdown and infection, but most worrying is the risk of a bleed, especially after facelift surgery which involves a very delicate process.”
“The sutures, or stitches in layman terms, are at risk of shifting or even popping undone. It is quite gruesome and can be totally avoided by taking good care of herself in the first place. It’s possible for her facial surgery to both tear and bleed – even a week after surgery if blood pressure is raised from exertion or excessive alcohol – even with laughing and screaming I have occasionally seen life-threatening haematomas develop, so Katie could be risking her life.”
Lambe also highlighted the importance of rest post-surgery, as the body needs to focus on healing, and mixing alcohol with painkillers could put additional strain on the liver.
“To see her not give her body a chance to rest and repair but to possibly be drinking alcohol is very risky. Her liver – a key organ – is under additional strain and if she’s had surgery and not just aesthetic injections, she is most likely on painkillers. This can be a fatal combination.”
