Maura Higgins has had a string of high-profile relationships since finding fame on Love Island, with the reality star most recently single again after splitting from Pete Wick
Reality starlet Maura Higgins has got tongues wagging yet again after her I’m A Celebrity co-star Danny Jones was seen appearing to kiss her.
The pals, who were in the ITV jungle together last year, were filmed at a BRITs after-party. At one point Danny appeared to give her a kiss, although it’s not suggested anything further happened.
A body language expert had their say, saying the kiss was “meaningless” and “wouldn’t really register as notable for either of them”.
But it’s not the first time Maura’s been caught kissing a famous face, from a cheeky snog with Joey Essex at the Pride Of Britain awards, to a date with Pete Wicks. She’s also had relationships with a number of celebs, and not just those she appeared on Love Island with.
Pete Wicks
Maura and Pete Wicks had an are they?/aren’t they? situation for months, with neither confirming anything was going on. They were pictured out together a number of times, and even sharing a kiss.
She finally confirmed they were dating around the time she appeared on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! last year. However it wasn’t meant to be.
Around Valentine’s Day this year, Maura was seen enjoying herself out without Pete. When asked where he was, she quipped: “Probably cheating.”
Kai Widdrington
Maura was seen cosying up to Strictly star Kai Widdrington at a party in October 2024. While they appeared close, nothing was ever confirmed, and it wasn’t long until rumours of a romance with Pete emerged.
Bobby Holland Hanton
Maura dated Hollywood stunt man Bobby Holland Hanton from May 2023 until early 2024. They kept much of their romance under wraps.
Joey Essex
Maura and Joey Essex set the rumour mill into overdrive in October 2022 after they were caught sharing a cheeky snog at the Pride of Britain Awards. Snaps of the duo getting up close and personal, their lips locked in a passionate kiss, set tongues wagging before they zipped away from the glitzy bash in the same cab.
However she laughed it off, and it appears it was just a cheeky snog.
Connor Wickham
Maura appeared to be dating footballer Connor Wickham in the summer of 2022.
An insider dished to The Sun around June: “A good friend of hers put them in touch and they have been talking for some time. “Connor and Maura went to Paris last month and it ended up being so romantic.
“They made it official then and have now gone off on their first holiday together as a couple.”
However Maura told fans weeks later that she was single.
Giovanni Pernice
Maura’s love life has been a rollercoaster, previously linked with Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice.
The four-month whirlwind with the dancing ace ended in October 2021. It was reported at the time that Maura was left “utterly heartbroken” after being suddenly dropped by Giovanni, with sources claiming to The Sun: “Maura didn’t see this coming and is finding it very difficult to come to terms with. She genuinely thought Gio was the one.”
The narrative that unfolded suggested conflicting schedules led to the breakup. However, Giovanni closed the chapter, dispelling any rumours with his personal statement on Twitter, detailing: “Great relationships with great people can come to a natural end. This has been the case for me recently. There was absolutely no wrong-doing and this should be the end of any speculation.”
Chris Taylor
Initially starting as friends, Maura and Chris Taylor got together a few months after her split from Curtis. Despite countless loved-up photos, it wasn’t meant to be and they eventually split up.
Chris spoke of his heartache on Celebs Go Dating, saying he’d been left devastated after realising Maura didn’t have the same feelings as him. It was reported they left things friendly, however Maura said last year that even that had fizzled out.
Curtis Pritchard
Maura’s love life first became the centre of attention when she appeared on Love Island in 2019. Her time on the dating show saw her spark up a romance with fellow Islander Curtis Pritchard, but it wasn’t until much later on in the series that their relationship started, with Maura struggling to find a connection at first.
When she entered the Love Island villa she first set her sights on Tommy Fury, but failed to turn his head away from Molly-Mae Hague. Moving on from Tommy, Maura went on to couple up with late entrant Tom Walker but their relationship came to a halt when he told the boys: “It’ll be interesting to see if she’s all mouth,” after the couple won an evening in the Hideaway.
From there, Maura coupled up with Marvin Brooks in Casa Amor but she also realised that he wasn’t the one and dumped him after returning to the main villa. In a moment that shocked many viewers, Maura then confessed to fancying Curtis.
After weeks of being coupled up with other people, they finally got together on day 46 in the villa and went on to finish in fourth place.
The pair continued to date after leaving the show, but by March 2020, it was all over. Despite initially parting on good terms, drama unfolded as both parties faced cheating allegations, which they promptly denied.
Pre-Love Island
Before she was stealing hearts in the Love Island villa, Maura was locked in a nine-year romance with her childhood beau James Finnegan. The Irish mechanic captured her heart during schooldays, leading to a serious commitment complete with an engagement ring.
However, the sound of wedding bells never materialised, as they called it quits in 2017 amid Maura’s skyrocketing modelling career, which sent her jet-setting on fabulous assignments globally.
She then dated Shane McGuigan in 2018, after they met at a David Haye vs Tony Bellew boxing match, where she was a ring girl and he was a commentator.
