Cleaning guru Mrs Hinch said she had to bring baby boy Vinnie to A&E earlier this week and has now revealed the tot’s diagnosis after growing concerned about him
Mrs Hinch rushed her baby son Vinnie to hospital in a concerning health update.
The This Morning star, 35, has gone through the physical and emotional ringer in recent weeks. Mrs Hinch was due to be celebrating the birth of her baby son, but she herself was taken to hospital just weeks after welcoming Vinnie into the world; with doctors diagnosing her with a dangerous blood clot in her leg.
But now, the cleaning guru has had to head back to the A&E department once again, this time for her baby boy Vinnie. She has revealed that he has been diagnosed with reflux and a cow’s milk allergy (CMPA).
Taking to her Instagram account on Friday (April 18), the star shared her relief at finally having the answers she was seeking. In an update with her fans Sophie explained that she had been unable to settle on the existing diagnoses of silent reflux and colic and felt something else was wrong with the little one.
In a snap of the pair coming home after their hospital visit, Mrs Hinch said that a second stint in A&E led to the new diagnosis of Laryngomalacia. It’s a condition that affects young children and infants.
The problem is characterised by floppiness of the upper airway, which – according to the NHS – can lead to the airways being blocked, stopping vital air getting into the lungs.
Mrs Hinch penned: “Having stayed in hospital this last week with Vinnie I am SO grateful we are now back home. Vinnies ‘reflux’ journey is something I’ve never experienced before and my gut couldn’t settle on ‘it’s just reflux this will pass’.
“I ended up taking Vinnie to A&E, and after further examinations yes Vinnie has reflux and CMPA but also laryngomalacia,” she said. “This is a common congenital condition, present at birth, where the soft tissues of the voice box collapse inward during feeding; to finally have answers and knowing as parents that we are not going crazy feels more settling yet nerve wracking.”
Mrs Hinch added that she felt an overwhelming sense of relief thanks to the new diagnosis and that she can care for Vinnie in the best way, which “avoids any potential surgery”. She added: “So Just a gentle reminder today …. Never give up on your instinct. You’re not silly, your gut knows.
“Have a beautiful Easter weekend everyone (Ps For those also facing any of these cases, Laryngomalacia especially, It would be so reassuring hearing your story, thank you) x”. It comes just weeks after Sophie herself was taken into hospital after discovering a serious blood clot in her leg.
Uploading a video of herself in a hospital gown, she took to her Instagram stories to reveal all. “I’m not really sure where to start with this week guys,” she fumed.
In the update, Sophie revealed that she had been diagnosed with a blood clot that had spread her pelvis, leg and groin. This was not something surprising for her, as she had clots before, but last had one back in 2018.
Holding back tears, she added: “But I can only imagine what’s going on in this hospital above me, below me, and I’m just, I’m not moaning. I’m just sort of updating because I bumped into some really lovely followers in A&E; they were helping me, they were like ‘Soph what are you doing here?'”
The queen of clean eventually went under the knife to clear the clot, with doctors going in through the leg and not the neck, which she had worried for. She was eventually discharged from hospital the following day.
Sophie also shares sons Ronnie, five, and Lennie, three, with husband Jamie. The pair tied the knot in 2018.
