Jacqueline Jossa and Dan Osborne officially announced their split yesterday (March 15), marking the end of their eight-year romance.

The EastEnders actress, 32, and TOWIE star, 33, said ‘I do’ in a Cheshire manor back in 2017 after first meeting in 2013. The duo have two little girls together, Ella, 9, and Mia, 6, with Dan also being dad to 11-yea- old Tommy from a previous relationship. Fans have suspected marriage troubles for a while now, and the rumours were fuelled when Jacqueline and Dan were seen without their wedding rings, and rumours about them living in separate homes circulated.

Come January, sources close to the pair said that they’d decided to part ways.

Yesterday, a statement was released saying: “Jacqueline and Dan are handling things privately, choosing to keep their lives and relationship out of the public eye.”

It continued: “They kindly ask for respect and privacy as they navigate this together. Their children remain their top priority, surrounded by love and care from both parents – something that will never change. Above all, Jacqueline and Dan have each other’s and their children’s best interests at heart. There will be no further comment.”

A friend close to the couple said: “Jacqueline and Dan are on a break and are spending time apart from each other. It’s not been easy for them lately and they have made this difficult decision.”, reports the Mirror.

They also mentioned that neither Jacq nor Dan know what the future holds but that the time apart was “needed.”

Jossa and Osbourne sparked split speculation when they were both recently spotted ringless, fuelling concerns about the state of their relationship.

It’s a far cry from their last public appearance at the Sonic 3 premiere in December, where they put on a united front with their kids in tow. Jacqueline shared a snap from the red carpet, while Dan posted pics with Jim Carrey, giving the impression all was well.

Separate lives

But behind closed doors, it seems things were amiss. Putting their £2 million Essex mansion on the market was a big red flag, as was Dan reportedly moving out and leaving Jacqueline to hold the fort.

Sources said it was clear their relationship was under strain.

Mixed messages on social media

When news of their split broke, fans were left confused over the pair’s contrasting social media posts. On Saturday, March 15, Dan shared a cheerful gym selfie with his 11 year old son Teddy, beaming with pride.

But Jacqueline painted a different picture, posting a series of somber snaps on her Instagram Stories, simply captioned “Saturday.”

She looked visibly upset, dressed in a black and white striped top and light blue jeans, her expression a far cry from Dan’s ear-to-ear grin.

Rumours of infidelity and a breakup was circulated in January, but Jacq, a mother of two, told The Sun to shove off the split rumours: “People seem to think they know more about my life than I do.”

She clapped back at the gossipmongers with: “They were saying: ‘Jacqueline didn’t spend Christmas with Daniel.’ But all I have to do is post pictures of us together with Christmas hats on. We lie in bed next to each other, laughing and reading stuff online about us.”

Brushing off the chinwag as part of celeb life, she added: “The speculation is ridiculous, but at the same time, I know it comes with the job, so I do understand it.”

Amidst it all, she took to social media to big up her fam, gushing about her clan: “I couldn’t ask for a better family, filled with strong women! My girls are my absolute world and I can’t actually get over how lucky I am.”

With a flashback to 2019, fans speculated over Dan’s supposed wild past, nudging him into publicly addressing his actions. He said via Instagram: “So after weeks, months, years of constant articles and rumours, some true, some very untrue I want to publicly say, I know I have made mistakes, we all do as humans.”

He went further, admitting his blunders nearly lost him his family: “But I’ve made some that have almost cost me my family. I have seriously learnt from these massively, so I want to publicly apologise to my beautiful wife and my family for the mistakes I’ve made.”

Not long after his Insta-sorry, Jacqueline packed her bags for a bit away.

Speaking to The Sun, she revealed: “It felt like everybody wanted to watch me fall apart. I kept it in for a while, but then over lockdown it was a really good time and place for Daniel and I to go through everything – an opportunity for us to talk through it all. For me, this meant turning to therapy. And because of that, I couldn’t be in the same house as Dan. There was no big argument or bust-up, and there were no other girls. Moving out was literally how I had to deal with it.”
