Apple TV fans have “rumbled” the identity of The Board after two series of mysterious conversations and awkward grunts issued through Lumon spokesperson Natalie
Severance fans have “rumbled” The Board’s identity.
One of the biggest questions of the entire series – of which there are many – is the identity of The Board. The mysterious Natalie has been seen throughout the series acting as a middle man between the The Board and the Innies.
Fans of the Apple TV series have gathered online to theorise who is behind the blue intercom. A common thought shared by the fanbase is that Jame Eagan himself is the moaning, groaning, eerie voice listening in on the Severed Floor.
The Board’s “voice” and his voice, heard in the final episode of season one, sound very much alike. But check this – Helena’s father may not be the only person communicating through Jame’s voice.
Some people believe that Jame somehow contains the collective consciousness of all the Eagan founders who came before him. Perhaps via a chip in his brain similar to the Severed employees, or maybe in a more sinister way, The Board is widely considered to be a representation of all the past Eagan CEOs’ collective brains.
@jbuckmovies took to Instagram to point out something truly chilling: “Take a look at the previous eight CEOs. There’s a pattern between their time serving as CEO and their date of death.”
Nearly every past Eagan died while still in the role as head of Lumon. @jbuckmovies believes that they actually sacrificed themselves to the “revolving,” which Jame previously hinted was a ceremony of some kind that Helena would accompany him through.
Another hint toward this is the creepy Perpetuity Wing that houses waxworks of all the former Eagans. @jbuckmovies points out that the definition of perpetuity is “the state or quality of lasting forever,” further solidifying the argument that Jame was implanted with their consciousnesses during his “revolving”.
This means Helena is next to be implanted. Fans lost their minds in the comment section and rushed to share their own theories. Someone simply said “wow,” a second impressed fan said: “Well done,” while another claimed that The Board is “Natalie moving the pieces”.
Another Apple TV viewer revealed their own wacky theory: “I don’t think it’s all the CEO’s in Jame’s brain, I think it’s just Kier. The revolving is Kier moving from consciousness to consciousness. The board is just Kier inhabiting Jame.”
