Batman and Star Wars actor Clive Revill has died at the age of 94, his daughter Kate has shared. Clive died in a care facility in Sherman Oaks, LA on March 11.
His death has only just been made public, with Kate sharing the sad news with The Hollywood Reporter. He had been living with dementia for a number of years.
The actor, born in Wellington, New Zealand, is best known for his time in musical theatre and other stage shows. However he also became known for voicing characters including Alfred Pennyworth in Batman: The Animated Series and more notably Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious in the original 1980 version of The Empire Strikes Back.

Clive also featured in the Disney movies Return To Never Land, as the narrator and voice of an elderly officer, and in 101 Dalmatians II: Patch’s London Adventure.
He was also the narrator of Mickey’s Twice Upon A Christmas.
He also voiced characters in classic cartoon series Johnny Bravo, Pinky And The Brain, All Grown Up! and Snorks.
Clive’s voice acting also spanned to video games, with him appearing in the likes of The Hobbit and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.
During his career, Clive acted at London’s Old Vic Theatre and in a number of Shakespeare Memorial Theatre Company’s productions in Stratford.

He went on to appear on Broadway in 1952 in The Pickwick Papers.
It was his role as Fagin in Oliver! for which he earned a Tony Award nomination.
He also picked up a Tony Award nomination for his role in Irma La Douce.
And he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for Avanti!, released in 1972.
Clive was married twice. His daughter Kate is from his marriage to his second wife.
