TOWIE icon Jess Wright terrified as ‘limp and lifeless’ son rushed to hospital

Jess Wright has shared a worrying update after her two-year-old son was rushed to hospital.

TOWIE icon Jess gave birth to her first child in May 2022. She then revealed his unique name, Presley, in a sweet update.

But her latest update wasn’t as exciting, as she shared the worrying news that her little one had been taken to hospital in an ambulance. She said the past week had been “tough” for Presley and their family.

The 39-year-old said on Instagram: “I wanted to share what happened, to reiterate how important it is to go and get them checked when your gut knows something just isn’t right.”

The reality TV legend went on to say that Presley, who has a rare congenital heart disease called Bicuspid Aortic Valve, “suddenly became limp and lifeless” last Tuesday. Jess went on to say that the toddler then started “refusing food and then throwing up in the night”.

The Essex beauty continued: “He’s been in our bed every night since (something he’s never really done that much). This sickness turned into a horrific cough, with a temperature, until finally on Friday my mother’s instinct kicked in and I took him to A&E.

“He was sent home as his observations after another dose of Nurofen were ‘ok’ and they couldn’t hear anything suspicious in the lungs.”

Jess went on: “At this point, for 48 hours he’d had a temperature and his breathing was rapid, especially during the night, which frightened me beyond belief.”

Then by Saturday, Presley was “more lifeless than ever” with “no colour in his face”. At that point, Jess said he hadn’t eaten for 48 hours.

She said: “I was on my own with him around lunch time and I noticed his cough wasn’t letting up, which went on and on and on.” After she couldn’t stop him coughing she called 999, and eight minutes later an ambulance arrived.

“All I could do was cling onto him hoping he was going to be ok,” she wrote. “The lady on the call also told me to go and find a defibrillator, and it was at that point I honestly wanted to just collapse.”

Worryingly, Presley’s oxygen dropped again, with Jess saying she was “terrified” in the ambulance. Luckily, at the hospital, his cough calmed down after a couple of hours and a top up of throat steroid.

Then just days later he was “up playing with his horses and animals again, has eaten little and often and has his cheeky laugh back”. Jess finished: “To say I’m relieved is an understatement.

“I guess I’m just trying to say, don’t wait, go to the hospital & get them checked because you never know how these things can escalate & thank god for the doctors & nurses that helped us.

“Now time to watch my baby be the funny little boy he always is & let him go back to his favourite place, the farm.”
