Katie Price will appear in daughter Princess Andre’s reality show The Princess Diaries after previously claiming that she was ‘banned’ from the ITV series — but she will appear in a rather unorthodox way
Katie Price is set to finally appear in her daughter Princess Andre’s reality programme after previously being cast out from the show. Princess is currently in production for the second and third series of The Princess Diaries, with her mum having been “banned” from participating until now.
The former glamour model, 47, will now feature on screen for the first time and has already begun recording scenes. Katie had previously expressed her disappointment at being prevented from filming with Princess for her 18th birthday celebrations, despite being present at the same location, alleging that her daughter’s representatives had blocked her involvement.
The Princess Diaries has showcased Princess’s elder brother Junior, her father Peter Andre, and stepmother Dr Emily MacDonagh, as the teenager builds her own thriving entertainment career. Insiders have revealed that both Peter and Katie have now contributed to the latest series.
“Katie has been filming some scenes for the new series of The Princess Diaries,” a source revealed. “She will appear on various video calls with her daughter, like on FaceTime and stuff, so she will have a presence in the upcoming episodes.
“It’s quite the turnaround as Katie was banned from appearing last time around. But she is a huge part of Princess’s life, and both Princess and Kate wanted her mum to be in the show,” according to the Mirror.
Last year, Katie informed supporters she was “not allowed” to feature in the programme. “Everyone knows she’s doing this documentary — and I’m not in it,” she said on her podcast.
She added: “Certain people don’t think it’s good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me.”
Reports suggested that Katie, who is well-versed in reality television, had been left “very hurt” after not being invited to appear alongside her daughter. A source revealed: “She caused a lot of drama and upset behind the scenes; no one wants Princess to feel caught between her two parents.”
Nevertheless, she did eventually feature in the show, though only through a voice message. When Princess enquired about which child had been the most mischievous during their younger years, Katie responded with a voicenote that was broadcast for viewers.
“I’ve just received mum’s voice note about who was the naughtiest out of me and Junior,” Princess announces. Katie can then be heard asking: “So who was the naughtiest child?”.
“Well, you was a mummy’s girl so you used to push me more and probably get away with things. I would probably say you was more naughty actually.
“You are still very much like me but different if that make sense. You’re more sensible. So the answer to your question is I think you was more naughty. You naughty girl!”
Despite the family squabbles, Princess now shares a “so close” bond with her mum, akin to “best friends”. During the programme, she attempted to FaceTime her mum, but quickly hung up.
