Scarlett Moffatt shared family snaps as she welcomed in the new year with fiancé Scott Dobinson and son Jude, just days after the Gogglebox star opened up about her miscarriage
Scarlett Moffatt has revealed her plans for the new year whilst sharing adorable family photos, just days after courageously opening up about her devastating miscarriage. The beloved former Gogglebox personality uploaded a collection of images to her Instagram on January 2, showing herself, fiancé Scott Dobinson and their little boy Jude enjoying New Year celebrations with a traditional roast dinner.
In her heartfelt message, she wrote: “I can’t control everything. But I can choose what I give my energy to.
“2026, I’m choosing peace.” A handful of celebrities rallied around her in the comments, with Strictly professional Karen Hauer showing support with a heart emoji.
Vito Coppola, who partnered with Scarlett during the Strictly Christmas special, also responded with loving heart emojis, whilst soap legend Beverley Callard penned: “Happy New Year gorgeous girl.” This touching post follows Scarlett’s brave revelation to The Sun about experiencing a miscarriage in 2025, describing how she and Scott were “really excited when they found out they were expecting a second child, two years after Jude’s birth”.
Tragically, Scarlett endured the heartbreak of miscarriage, which she described as “soul-destroying” leading the couple to decide against attempting for another child. They chose instead to treasure their precious son, particularly given their previous fertility struggles, which had taken “three and a bit years” before conceiving Jude, reports the Mirror.
Scarlett confided in The Sun: “I was lying in bed with Scott one day, and I said: ‘I just don’t think I can handle the heartbreak any more. I think we should stop.
“‘We’ve got Jude, so let’s enjoy him’.” Despite the emotional turmoil, 2025 concluded on a positive note for Scarlett.
The telly star participated in the Strictly Christmas Special and emerged victorious, performing a Cha Cha Cha with Vito Coppola to DJ Play A Christmas Song by Cher.
In a chat with the Mirror before the special aired, Scarlett expressed: “I couldn’t believe my luck when I was paired with Vito.
“I really wanted him! I kept mentioning that Vito would be my favourite.
“I’m so grateful to the show for giving us a chance to be a small part in such a big institution.” Their dance performance bagged a flawless 40 from the judges.
Scarlett further shared: “We just have such a laugh together, it feels like I’ve known him a decade. It’s [Strictly] is just the best.”
