Victoria Beckham has confirmed she has reversed her decision to use the government scheme to furlough 30 of her employees.
The 46-year-old, who is the CEO of her own clothing brand Victoria Beckham Ltd, came under immense criticism after she opted to to use the government bail out scheme and use tax-payers’ money to pay 80% of her staff’s wages while they are at home.
Fans were furious by the reports due to Victoria and her husband, former football legend David Beckham, having a combined fortune of £335million.
However, the former Spice Girl also known as Posh, has now changed her mind and a spokeswoman for the company has explained its plans amid lockdown.

A spokeswoman said: “Our decision to furlough a small number of our staff seemed the most appropriate option in keeping with many other businesses.
“The situation is dynamic and, with the support of our shareholders, we now believe we can navigate through this crisis without drawing from the Government furlough scheme.
“Our application was made in the best interests of trying to protect our staff, and that is still our absolute focus.
“We are doing everything we can to ensure we can achieve that without using Government assistance.”

A source reportedly told The Sun that Victoria was “devastated” over the backlash she received for putting in the application.
An insider told the publication: “The original decision to furlough wasn’t actually hers – it was more a board thing, and she was persuaded that it was the right thing to do.
“Obviously she now realises this is wrong.
“Victoria realises she still has some way to go when it comes to endearing herself again with the great British public, but she is going to do her position and influence to start giving more back.”

As well as being blasted by the public, Victoria was also slammed by Piers Morgan and Ricky Gervais.
On Good Morning Britain, Piers fumed: “How nice it was at the weekend, with all the selfless acts, to hear Victoria Beckham is furloughing 30 staff of her failing business.”
“Lost money year after year. Been bailed out by her famously rich husband David Beckham.
“Sorry, this furlough scheme was not for prima donna millionaires like you. Running a vanity project like her fashion business that makes no money.”
