BBC The One Show was back tonight and regular host Alex Jones was joined on the programme by West End sensation Michael Ball.
And despite Michael not being a regular host, as the BBC continue to search for Matt Baker’s replacement, Alex didn’t hold back when it came to the brutal banter stakes.
The 43-year-old Welsh presenter laid into Michael’s hair do after the pair discussed getting haircuts after they watched a segment about how barbers could open amid the lockdown with “virtual queueing”.
Turning to her stand-in co-host Michael, Alex said: “I think if you’re booking into the barber you should book two slots.”

Momentarily, Michael was left speechless before majestically swishing his hair about.
He then remarked that he looked like a character from Neighbours.
While it’s not known yet who will be former Blue Peter presenter Matt Baker’s permanent replacement on the programme, some The One Show viewers were calling for it to be Angellica Bell the other week.

Angellica impressed viewers of the programme, which saw she and Alex chat to Tim Peake and Gavin and Stacey’s Alison Steadman.
Viewers took to Twitter in their droves to call for Angellica to bag a permanent spot on the show.

One social networker remarked: “My two fave women on my telly right now @MissAlexjones and @angellicabell #TheOneShow.”
While another continued: “Yeay!@angellicabell on the telly.
“Definitely a good choice for the one show.
