Daniel Brocklebank has revealed he was banned from a popular online dating app after it suspected he was catfishing.
The Coronation Street star, 40, revealed that his mum had encouraged him to join the site, but he now claims that the universe was telling him something.
Daniel, who plays vicar Billy Mayhew on Corrie, took to Twitter to share his unfortunate news with fans.
Tweeting to his 97,700 followers, the actor said: “My mum suggested I join a dating site… I did & they banned my profile because they thought I was impersonating myself.”
Fans instantly flooded the replies, asking whether he has since been allowed to sign up for the site.

One Corrie fan tweeted: “Brilliant. Have they since let you rejoin now they know it’s you?”
While a second added: “Amazing!! Dating sites are a funny thing right now. Amazed how busy they are!”
A third fan went on to say: “Lol that’s funny .. you probably the only who puts a genuine picture on lol, take it as a sign … don’t do it.”

“I’d love to go out with you!!! Use twitter as your dating site!! I bet you’ve got thousands of messages,” gushed a fourth.
Confirming that he has not signed up for an app since the ordeal, Daniel tweeted: “I figured it was the universe suggesting it was the wrong move.”

Last year, Hollywood legend Sharon Stone revealed she was axed from a dating site after bosses didn’t believe the 62-year-old had turned to the internet to find love.
Daniel, who first walked along the famous cobbles in 2014, has previously dated his co-star Rob Mallard, known for his portrayal of Daniel Osbourne.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm on ITV.
