Caitlyn Jenner shuts down Kanye West questions and says she 'can't go there'

Caitlyn Jenner was quick to shut down questions about Kanye West’s Presidential campaign on today’s Good Morning Britain, as Ben Shephard dug for answers.

At first, the KUWTK star spoke about her friendship with Kanye, thanking the rapper for the years of support and friendship he has offered.

Speaking to Ben and Kate Garraway, she said: “I just wish him the best. I hope for the best for him. He’s a really good guy.”

However, when Ben asked whether Caitlyn thought Kanye would make a good President of the United States, she admitted she couldn’t “go there”.

Ben asked: “Would he make a good President, though, Caitlyn?”

She laughed awkwardly and said: “I can’t even go there. I can’t see it, I can’t go there.”

Before adding: “We’re living in such a political environment today. We have, you know, an election coming up in November. It kind of drives you…

“I don’t even want to discuss or talk about politics any more. I’m just kind of over it. Let’s move forward.”

Kanye’s running for US President became official on July 16 after the rapper filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission.

His first Presidential rally in South Carolina made headlines after the musician broke down in tears, and claimed his wife Kim Kardashian attempted to abort their daughter North.

Kim later shared a statement about her husband’s mental health, reminding fans that Kanye suffers from bi-polar disorder – a condition he confirmed he was suffering from in 2018.

She said: “As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows know incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.

“I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health.”

On July 25, he shared a public apology to Kim, writing: “I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter.

“I did not cover her like she has covered me. To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me.”
