Amanda Holden has admitted she wants Simon Cowell to take time off the ITV show so he can recover from his horror injury.
Simon was forced to pull out of the upcoming Britain’s Got Talent finals after breaking his back in multiple places following an electric bike accident.
Amanda, 49, appeared on Lorraine to talk about her new single at the return of BGT this weekend, however she also spoke about Simon’s condition.
Chatting about her taking up the role of head judge in Simon’s absence, Amanda said: “Simon is doing really well.
“One of the producers said that she had a conversation with him and he is sounding very healthy and happy.

“We just want him to take the time to recover, he is a workaholic – he never stops.
“I am glad he has both feet up and is having a rest with his family.”
Explaining how BGT has been revamped to abide by the ongoing social distancing rules, Amanda added: “There is no live audience but it is like a gigantic Zoom call.
“It is a bit like Gogglebox but they are only tuned into BGT. They get to see what goes on behind the scenes.”

Despite starting out her career in musical theatre, Amanda became a household name thanks to Simon adding her to the BGT panel.
“I didn’t think it would last for 15 years,” Amanda continued via video link from her Heart Radio studio in central London.
“My career has gone a different way but singing and the theatre is my first love.

“I am detained to help the cause in the West End.”
Simon was rushed to hospital earlier this summer after a horror fall at his LA home.
The star was trying out his new electric bike when he fell off and broke his back.
Despite undergoing successful surgery, doctors have advised the dad-of-one to remain in the States and take some time out to fully recover.
The Britain’s Got Talent finals air on ITV this weekend.
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am
