Gwyneth Paltrow turns her 'vagina-scented' candle into a £34 roll-on deodorant

Gwyneth Paltrow has turned her ‘vagina-scented’ candle into a roll-on deodorant.

The actress announced to members of her Goop site she was starting to flog the scent in the form of pocket-sized sticks for $45 (£34) each.

In a newsletter on the new product she said the idea came as the candle began as an experiment in perfume – which was never released.

The Goop announcement said: “Before it was a (famous) candle, this sophisticated, sexy floral was born as a perfume; now it’s here in a chic, portable rollerball.

“Natural perfumer Douglas Little created the scent – cedarwood and bergamot absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed – to stir the senses toward the realms of fantasy and seduction.

“It’s as incredible on skin as it is in the candle, and now it comes in a convenient, chic, sleek rollerball vial.”

Shakespeare In Love actress Gwyneth, 47, released her This Smells Like My Vagina scented candle in January and had to restock it thanks to huge demand.

The product was described as being “funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected.”

Gwyneth even gave fans an explanation as to how the candle was created, in the product description.

The Goop website explained: “This candle started as a joke between perfumer Douglas Little and GP – the two were working on a fragrance, and she blurted out, ‘Uhhh… this smells like a vagina’ – but evolved into a funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected scent.

“That turned out to be perfect as a candle – we did a test run at an In goop Health, and it sold out within hours.

“It’s a blend of geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed that puts us in mind of fantasy, seduction, and a sophisticated warmth.”

The Oscar-winner, who has kids Apple, 16, and Moses, 14, with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, followed it up with a $75 candle she said smelled like her orgasm.

It was described as being “sexy” and “addictive” on the Goop website.
