Nick Knowles left DIY SOS viewers heartbroken when he revealed a young disabled boy who appeared on last night’s episode with his family had died.
Oliver was diagnosed with a degenerative spinal condition in 2017, which left him unable to walk and he faced the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
He appeared on the BBC show with adopted dad Darren Hudson, who had to share the youngster’s bedroom downstairs and had no access to the upstairs of the house before the transformation.
The dad, who also shares the home with his other children, Harvey and step-son Mike, told Nick and the team he “didn’t recognise the house” after the transformation.

But Nick revealed the heartbreaking news on Twitter after the show aired that Oliver had died.
He wrote: “We @DIYSOS send condolences to Darren & family on the sad passing of wonderful Ollie who is missed & was so loved.”
Heartbroken viewers took to Twitter to tell of their sadness over Oliver’s death.
One wrote: “I’ve never felt more heartbreak for a family than I have just watching that episode then reading that tweet. God bless.”

Another said: “That was possibly one of the best if not the best builds I’ve seen. So deserved, such a lovely family. Really touching. RIP Ollie.”
Darren told on the show how was overwhelmed by the work of the team and the local community.
He said: “Amazing. What you have done for us guys, it’s our next chapter. It’s the next step forward which is massive for us.
“Words don’t even seem enough. I have been in there and I didn’t even recognise my house. In fact it’s not a house, you have brought the home back for us.
“I can actually get upstairs and it might seem nothing to you guys but to me it’s everything. You have given me the full house back where I just had the downstairs for so long.
“It’s something we needed so bad and it couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s amazing. Thank you so much.”
The episode of DIY SOS is available to watch on BBC iPlayer
