Strictly's HRVY gushes about Maisie Smith and hints of romance after show

Strictly Come Dancing star HRVY has hinted that romance with EastEnders beauty Maisie Smith could begin after the show ends next month.

The YouTuber and singer, real name Harvey Cantrell, appeared on ITV talk show Lorraine on Tuesday alongside his professional dance partner Janette Manrara to talk about the BBC dancing competition.

HRVY and Janette revealed that they will be dancing the Salsa this weekend but conversation quickly turned to his rumoured romance with EastEnders beauty Maisie Smith.

Maisie, 19, and HRVY, 21, shared the number one spot on the leaderboard in the first week of the competition and television presenter Lorraine, 60, couldn’t help but wonder if they are sharing anything else behind-the-scenes.

HRVY said: “Lorraine, I’d tell you if anything was going on.

“Trust me. We are just friends. Obviously, because of the whole pandemic nobody can really be any distance from each other apart from two metres.

“We’re just friends. We’re just dancing but she’s a very lovely girl.”

He added: “Very talented, very beautiful but for now I’m just going to focus on the old dancing.”

It comes after HRVY and Maisie were snapped leaving the studios just moments after each other during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The pair made a very late exit in the small hours at 4.30am just a minute after one another.

HRVY, 21, and Maisie, 19, bot made their way home in separate cars after both sailing through to the next stage of the BBC dance competition.

An insider tells The Sun Online: “Maisie and HRVY were seen leaving Elstree within one minute of each other.

“The celebrities and dancers had enjoyed a few drinks in their bubbles after the show had ended.”

Maisie, who plays Tiffany Butcher in EastEnders, refused to rule out a relationship with HRVY recently.

When quizzed about a possible romance, she said: “Not right now. He is a beautiful-looking guy.

“But I have only seen him for a couple of hours a week so I am still enjoying getting to know him.

“I don’t know what would happen in the future, but for now we are getting along really well as friends.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Saturday night
