Emmerdale actress Natalie J Robb has said she found Moira and Cain Dingle’s romantic reunion “sexier” because they were forced to socially distance.
Moira and Cain (Jeff Hordley) reunited in Thursday’s Emmerdale episodes after months of being apart after she had an affair, with Cain declaring his love for her in a romantic sunset-lit field.
Speaking to Daily Star about the reunion, Natalie said: “I really like the way they wrote it, the way they did it.
“I’ve always said from the off with the whole Covid thing, I was intrigued how the writers coul come up with ideas to make it look and work with the social distancing in place, and also acknowledging the fact that it is out there and we’re going to be stuck with it until at least summer next year, I think, so I was intrigued to how they’d do it.

“I’m sure they’ll come up with ways so when we do have to do more intimate stuff they’ll be working on ideas for that.
“But the way it was show, I actually think it was really beautiful. I thought it was really romantic but I also thought it was sexier in a way because of the way it’s these two people coming together.”
She went on: “You know what’s going on in their heads and it was so beautifully shot. The lighting of it was incredible.

“It kind of gets you a little bit and I liked the power of that more. You know what Moira and Cain can do and it’s not normal to see them not in a clinch, but it was interesting to see how they did it and I think they wrote it really well.
“I thought it worked, personally, but going forward with it, I don’t know how it’ll continue to work.”

The actress added: “I did feel in the episode you don’t notice the social distancing at all, it’s edited quite well so you don’t even think of it.
“When I watched it, that was one of the things I thought – ‘Oh, I didn’t notice it’ – but we all were.”
Cain actor Jeff Hordley told us: “We’re doing different techniques now, plate shots and being able to bring actors closer together by the power of editing.
“It’s challenging.”
He went on: “There’s a lot of power in space and people don’t have to be close together to create a relationship or status.
“If you do a play, you explore a lot more with space than you do on television, but it’s only because we’re shooting in these little boxes that we need to get close together.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays, on ITV
