Hollyoaks viewers fume as George attacks John Paul after tense Nancy showdown

Hollyoaks fans were left heartbroken on Thursday evening as PC George Kiss (Callum Kerr) stepped up his manipulation over boyfriend John Paul McQueen (James Sutton).

The loved-up pair returned home from their holiday and were faced with unexpected news.

George was met with an internal conduct review at work over his handling of the county lines drugs network in the village.

Meanwhile, John Paul caught up with the rest of the McQueens and was stunned to hear everything he missed with Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) and serial killer Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle).

The Hollyoaks High teacher later went to seek forgiveness from close pal Nancy Hayton (Jessica Fox) for stealing her late partner Kyle’s watch, but was shocked to hear that she was reason that George could lose his job.

When Nancy and George argue about it, John Paul remained silent and chose not to get involved in the spat between his lover and best friend.

John Paul tries to make George feel better with some drinks, but the copper was simmering with rage that his boyfriend didn’t stand up for him in front on Nancy.

George got increasingly angry and when John Paul was forced to push him away, seeing the police officer punch him.

Viewers at home were left gobsmacked after George brutally attacked fan favourite John Paul and rushed to discuss the assault on social media.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “John Paul deserves better.”

Another added: “Uh oh. John Paul run!!!”

A third person posted: “I hate PC Kiss. Protect John Paul please.”

While a fourth said: “Why does George get easily annoyed when John Paul wants to cheer him up?”

Its not the first time George has showed signs of coercively controlling John Paul in their relationship.

The dodgy cop made his partner believe he was dead in the dramatic New Year’s Eve episode.

John Paul rushed to the murder scene to find out what had happened, and spotted that PC Kiss’ badge was next to the body bag.

Little did he know that George had placed the badge there deliberately, and was gleefully watching his boyfriend break down safely from the overhead bridge.

It was only after John Paul thoroughly believed PC Kiss was dead that George arrived to explain that nothing was wrong.

Also, George only agreed to help the McQueens with heir blackmailing horror if John Paul promised to never speak to ex-boyfriend James Nightingale again.

Hollyoaks spoilers have revealed that things will get even worse for the couple in upcoming scenes as John Paul’s ex Dean arrives in the village.

PC Kiss has previously been shown taunting his former partner over their break-up, after Dean accused him of wrecking his life with his controlling behaviour.

Will Dean and John Paul team up to take down PC George Kiss once and for all?

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
