Vernon Kay and his wife Tess Daly might be worth £6m but the I’m A Celeb star still loves a bargain.
Vernon, 46, has revealed he loves nothing better than yellow-labelled reduced price grub on sale in the supermarket, despite being one half of one of the UK’s telly power couples.
The former Family Fortunes host said it’s one of his ‘top tips’ when he goes to the supermarket.
The telly presenter admits the food is often on it’s last good day before going off, but he can’t resist saving a few pennies by nabbing up reduced priced goods on their last legs.

The TV presenter, who has two daughters, Phoebe, 16 and Amber, 11 explained: “Yesterday I braved a trip to the supermarket and I went quite late and here’s a top tip, cash saving.
“I got there just as they were putting the reduced labels on the meat and poultry items.
“What we have for tea tonight will probably be out of date today but I got it at a bargain price.

“I got a massive rib eye steak, Tess doesn’t eat red meat and the girls don’t eat it so it’s a treat.
“There was a third off face value because it went out of date today so they had to sell it.”
Vernon admitted this week I’m A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec tried to talk him out of doing the show.

He was one of the stars of the Welsh castle based version in December last year.
But he said: “I’m quite good friends with Ant and Dec.
“We play golf on a regular basis. In previous years they’ve said, ‘Oh, it’s horrific, you don’t want to do what they’re doing’.”
But they eventually gave him encouragement to do the 2020 series.
Vernon said of the pair: “I phoned Dec and he said, ‘Just go in and enjoy it. You know what’s coming, there’s cockroaches, there’s horrific things, but just go in and enjoy it’.
“I’m quite competitive. I don’t like walking away from a challenge and not feeling like I gave 100 per cent and that’s the attitude I went in there with.”
