Susanna Reid has liked her former colleague Piers Morgan’s tribute to the Good Morning Britain team after he quit the show on Tuesday.
The 50-year-old normally presents the ITV morning show Mondays to Thursdays, but was missing this Thursday and instead replaced by Kate Garraway.
Following his exit from GMB after controversial comments about Meghan Markle, Piers paid tribute to his old team.
He shared a group shot of them from pre-Covid times, as well as a caption celebrating their higher ratings.
“I had one goal when I joined GMB – beat BBC Breakfast in the ratings,” he started.
“On my last day, we did it.

“That was down to the hard work and dedication of the whole team.
“They don’t all agree with me, some don’t even like me, but we were a team… and we won.”
He added: “Thanks guys, I’ll miss you.”
Susanna was one of the more than 19,000 people to have liked the tweet tribute.
On Wednesday’s episode, Susanna addressed Piers’ absence after he dramatically quit the show on Tuesday afternoon.

She told viewers: “A number of people, of course, will know the news and many of you will not and will be surprised that Piers Morgan is not here this morning.
“Now Piers and I have disagreed on many things and that dynamic was one of the many things that viewers loved about the programme.
“He is without a doubt an outspoken, challenging, opinionated, disruptive broadcaster. He has many critics and he has many fans.

“You will know that I disagreed with him about Meghan’s interview. He himself clarified his comments about her mental health on the show yesterday. There are many voices on GMB and everyone has their say.
“But now Piers has decided to leave the programme. Some of you may cheer,” Susanna went on, “and others will boo.
“He has been my presenting partner Monday to Wednesday for more than five years and during Brexit and the pandemic and other issues he has been a voice for many of you, and a voice that many of you have railed against.
“It is certainly going to be very different. But shows go on, and so on we go.”
A number of viewers were convinced that Susanna was close to tears after her piece to the camera, with her looking away from the cameras and at stand-in host Ranvir Singh instead.
At another point, Ranvir asks Susanna if she was “alright” after talking of Piers’ exit.
“His departure is, obviously, one of the reverberations that has come from this bombshell Harry and Meghan interview,” Susanna said.
