Katy Perry looked frightened to death as she watched on in terror as a contestant passed out in front of her on the American Idol stage.
To make matters worse, the 36-year-old had just finished critiquing the singers’ performance when one half of the duet looked uneasy on her feet.
Right before the panel, the budding hopeful collapsed and needed emergency medical assistance straight away.
During the Monday episode, Ronda Felton and Funke Lagoke teamed up to perform a duet for judges Katy, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
The duo belted out the power ballad Tell Him, by Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion, but divided the panel with their individual musical talents.
It seemed the twosome hadn’t wowed the judges with Luke airing his opinion that Ronda has been carried by Funke while Katy believed Ronda had put heart into her singing.
Impartial Lionel was in the process of explaining that there seemed to be a “clear and present disagreement” when Funke began to sway.
Within seconds, she had fallen to the ground, landing on her face as onlookers gasped at the sickening thud.
Helpless Katy appeared to be in despair as she clutched at her face in horror as both Lionel and Luke lunged from their seats to run to her aid.
A shocked Luke yelled as she was turned over: “Don’t grab her. She busted her chin y’all.”
Crew members were quickly on the scene, desperate for Funke to provide a response, as they asked: “Funke? Can you hear me? Funke?”
The sirens sounded and Funke was later placed onto a stretcher and whisked to hospital.
As she was leaving with the medics, she weakly requested for “glue” instead of “stitches” for her chin that had clearly been cut open from the frightful fall.
Lionel hadn’t even had a chance to deliver and so with Funke now in safe hands he approached Ronda who seemed to be a little shaken and upset.

Unfortunately for Funke, she did need to have stitches to close her wound but luckily didn’t break any bones.
Soon after a message relayed that Funke was in a stable condition after being treated for dehydration, with the duo returning to the stage next week for the next heats.
