BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker made an awkward weather slip-up during Wednesday’s show.
However, weather presenter Carol Kirkwood was on hand to offer her expert knowledge and correct her co-star.
Host Dan said to Carol: “We were talking about snow on the pitch in Manchester yesterday when Manchester City managed to get the better of Paris Saint-Germain. Snow in May is pretty rare isn’t it?”
After a short pause, Carol replied: “In the centre of the city it is rarer but it’s not unusual and not particularly unusual for Scotland.
I’ve known for snow in June in the hills of Scotland, Dan”.
Joining the conversation, Louise Minchin added: “There we go.”
Carol added: “At low levels yes, especially in England, but not so much in Scotland.”
Making a joke about his own mistake, Dan said: “Carol, that’s the kindest ever way of someone saying ‘shut up you’re talking nonsense’.
Both Dan and Louise erupted into laugher as the weather segment drew to a close.
Dan, 44 was missing from Tuesday’s BBC Breakfast show.
The 44-year-old presenter, who has recently stepped down from presenting hit BBC show Football Focus after 12 years, was replaced by fellow host Jon Kay as his bewildered fans wondered where he was.
Dan and Louise usually host the popular breakfast show from Monday to Wednesday, before Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt step in to take over presenting duties for the remainder of the week.
Dan often updates his fans – and viewers of the show – on his whereabouts.
But because of a four-day nationwide social media boycott from football clubs, players, athletes and sporting bodies over the Bank Holiday break, Dan was especially quiet on his social media accounts.
He and many of his colleagues in the football world were raising awareness to attempts to tackle racial abuse and discrimination on their social media platforms.
The ban began on Friday and will ended tonight just before midnight on Tuesday.

On Friday he took to social media to wish his followers a happy Bank Holiday weekend as he told them he was having a break from social media.
Sharing a campaign image to stop online abuse, Dan penned on Twitter: “Hope you have a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend and enjoy the #LineofDuty finale.
“I’ll see you on #FootballFocus but not on here. I really hope the #StopOnlineAbuse campaign has an impact. Take care.”
