P Diddy has officially changed his name, and unveiled his driving license to prove it.
Rap star Sean Combs has now changed his middle name to Love.
He ditched John and will now be called Sean Love Combs.
The 51-year-old musician has gone by many nicknames over the years, including his main alias P Diddy.
He’s also been known as Puff Daddy and just simply Diddy.
Sean broke the news to his Twitter followers with a snap of his Florida driving license, and gleefully shared: “Look what I just got in the mail today… it’s official! Welcome to the love era.”
The star also set his Twitter handle to “LOVE”.
He shared a second image of a handwritten note page, where he transcribed all his monikers over the decades.
The page read: “Puffy. Puff Daddy. P Diddy. Diddy. LOVE.”
And while some fans were congratulatory, others warned him that sharing a public snap of his driving license was a risky move, as it includes his signature and driving license number.
“Bruh, I hope this ain’t real. If it is, please edit your Drivers License info so your identity can’t be stolen,” one fan wrote.
“Wow I just don’t think it’s safe to display all your personal information on social media because the hackers are good at making a copy that looks real too,” someone else said.
Others even theorised the license could be fake.
But others were more receptive to the news, with one writing: “He’s official… welcome!”
While another added: “Officially a Florida boy!”
“Oh wow it’s legit!” another penned.
Celebs including Nicole Scherzinger had liked the post on Instagram to show Diddy some love.
And on his Instagram story, Diddy had included a handwritten note that read: “When I love, I love.”
The idea of a name change originally came about in 2017, when Sean tweeted: “I decided to change my name again! My new name is LOVE aka Brother Love.”

He posted a video to his Instagram account in which he said: “Well, ladies and gentlemen, today I’ve come to the conclusion that you cannot play around with the internet.
“Due to the overwhelming response from the media out there, and just due to there not wanting to be any confusion… I was only joking, okay. I didn’t change my name. It was just part of one of my alter egos. One of my alter egos is ‘Love’.”
