Brian Conley says he is the perfect pick as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent.
The TV funnyman, 59, is hoping his new role on EastEnders will help him land a spot on the panel.
Brian thinks he would be perfect for the ITV show because he has been in showbiz for so long.
He said: “Is it true I would love to be a judge on Britain’s Got Talent? I think I could contribute to that just because of all the things I have done in the business.
“I also did a show on BBC Two years ago called Let Me Entertain You and that was way before Britain’s Got Talent.
“I love nurturing talent.”
Brian, who has joined the Albert Square soap as Terry Cant, has been a performer since the late 70s – doing panto, reality shows, TV acting, presenting and comedy.
Britain’s Got Talent is not airing this year due to coronavirus, but it is expected to return in 2022 with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams on the judging panel.
Little Britain star David recently let slip that boss Simon isn’t in the BGT WhatsApp group, despite the other judges chatting on there all the time.
Diversity creator Ashley Banjo, who found fame on the ITV talent show back in 2009, stepped in to take Simon’s seat on the panel in 2020 after the X Factor mogul broke his back in a bike accident.
However, the dancer admits that he doesn’t expect to be back on the panel when Britain’s Got Talent returns next year.
Back in Albert Square, Brian made his explosive entrance as Terry on Tuesday night.
Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) had the shock of her life when Terry arrived in Walford unexpectedly.
The Walford nurse wrote her estranged dad a letter after suffering from loneliness since her teenage daughter Bex left to go travelling.
She didn’t expect to come face-to-face with her absent dad, especially after calling him an “old perv” minutes before he announced who he is.
EastEnders fans have since taken to social media to give their verdict on Brian’s debut as Terry, who’s also known as Rocky.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Brian Conley in EastEnders, things are looking up. Do hope he stays, love him already.”
