Love Island's Malin Andersson posts poignant pic after past abusive relationship

Love Island favourite Malin Andersson has shared a poignant photo of herself from her time in an abusive relationship, coupled with an important message to her followers on Instagram as she hopes to empower and encourage others to get the help they need.

The image showed the reality TV star with bruises and cuts on her chin, cheek and head and a black eye as she looked into the camera.

Malin then made sure to post a trigger warning for anyone who would have a painful emotional reaction to seeing the abuse after experiencing something similar.

In harrowing words, the star recalled some of the horrific names she’d been called by a previous abuser.

“You’re just a good f**k, nothing else”, “attention seeking sl*g” and “you’re nothing” were some of the terms she shared being called.

The star continued her post: “’You’re gonna have nobody’ ‘You deserve to have no family’ ‘Nobody is going to listen to you’ ‘Nobody gives a s**t about you or what you have to say’.”

After sharing the horrific terms of abuse along with many others she’d received in the past Malin then showed how hearing such awful language and criticism led her down a path of feeling worthless.

“I am none of the above. I am a young woman that has had quite the journey. I am loved, I am safe… I am protected,” she explained, before sharing some of her own emotional thoughts.

Malin said she’d begged the universe to “take the pain away” and her late mum watching over her to “shower” her with love and tell her the truth about why she couldn’t leave her abuser.

“Please can someone help me… why do I keep going back? Why is it like an addiction. A mental attack?” she recalled thinking. “I can’t seem to break the cycle… but I’m scared of being alone. I don’t have anyone around me.. he says all I do is moan.

“I feel so drained. I can hardly sleep or eat. I’m praying to you now – I need to get back on my feet… I know I have the strength so please give me the ability to see it.”

The model and influencer then finished her incredibly brave post by sharing how she’d experiencing all these things in the past but had managed to move on and leave.

“I was once this young woman. And now I am thriving,” she said.

“You can thrive too,” Malin added, sharing her love and support with her 712,000 followers.

The Love Island star has posted a series of images detailing her domestic abuse from her relationship with ex Tom Kemp – who was then jailed for assaulting her – over the last year.

In 2020 she also shared that the last “two years have been absolute hell” but she hasn’t been able to say much due to the ongoing police investigation into her abuser.

“The father of my late daughter Consy has been jailed for only part of what he has done to me,” she added at the time.

Kemp was jailed for 10 months after admitting the attack, which broke Malin’s hand, despite previously branding her “a liar”.

Malin continues to share the process of her recovery and the motivational speaker has received an outpouring of support from fans.
