Piers Morgan in 'good conversations' with chairman Andrew Neil to join GB News

Piers Morgan is reportedly in talks to join GB News after quitting Good Morning Britain earlier this year.

The 56-year-old presenter suddenly left the ITV breakfast show in March after Ofcom received a record-breaking number of complaints in regards to his comments about Meghan Markle.

He dismissed the Duchess of Sussex’s claims she had suicidal thoughts that were ignored by Buckingham Palace staff.

Speculation has been rife over what Piers will do next and Andrew Neil has revealed that he’s had “good conversations” with the outspoken star about joining GB News.

GB News chairman Andrew, 72, explained told Radio Times: “Yes, we have had conversations, but not about breakfast.

“All my indications are that Piers doesn’t want another breakfast show. But I think if he does any more British news TV it’s more likely to be with us than with anybody else.

“We’re in good discussions, we continue to stay in touch and he knows that we feel that he would be a great addition to the line-up.”

GB News is set to launch this weekend. The channel will reportedly not provide rolling news but instead a mix of news, opinion and debate.

The presenting line-up for GB News has had the public on high alert to see what other big names would be joining the all-star cast.

Andrew has so far managed to bag the likes of Simon McCoy, Kirsty Gallacher and Alastair Stewart.

Following his abrupt exit from GMB, Piers has claimed that he has been approached about returning to the show.

GMB has has reportedly suffered a decline in viewers since his departure and he said there had been contact from a third party over a comeback.

He told The Sun: “I have had some quite random third-party feelers put out to see if I would consider a return to the show.

“I don’t want to say on the record who, but a pretty close third-party.
