Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has opened up about finding love.
The northern farmer has told fans that the secret to her happy marriage is a ‘slow burn’.
Amanda has been happily married to Clive for over two decades, but admits it wasn’t love at first sight.
The Channel 5 regulars now have nine children and are stronger than ever.
The trainee shepherdess insists they are proof love can last the test of time – even when divorces are on the rise.
Amanda and Clive met when she was just 21-years-old back in 1996.
Amanda said: “It was a slow burn thing, we kind of got to know each other.
“We were friends first then went out a little bit together.
“With us both coming from non-farming backgrounds we were kind of peas in a pod really, but we didn’t know that at the time.”
She added that while there is an age gap of 21 years, they don’t see age as an issue.
Clive, 66, added: “I do remember this six-foot-something woman knocked on the door.
“I was very taken with her. You couldn’t not be.”
Clive and Amanda dated for five years before tying the knot.
The couple got married in 2000 before starting a family of their own.
While they admit they didn’t plan on having a large family, Amanda and Carl now are parents to Anna, Violet, Edith, Raven, Clemmy, Nancy, Reuben, Miles and Sidney.
Opening up about the children working with them on the farm, Clive previously said: “I’ve always thought when we’ve been working the kids like to be part of something.
“It’s lovely when they are around to help and they help willingly. I miss them when they’re at school. When they’re at home it makes a difference definitely.
“We have a lot to do and we have to get to the end of what we do each day but although it looks chaotic, we’re very focused and aware of where we should be.
“We have a lot of things depending on us, not just children.”
