EastEnders Ruby's exit teased as Jean threatens to tell Martin about Stacey lie

It looks like EastEnders fans could witness Ruby Allen’s (Louisa Lytton) exit imminently as Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) threatens to out Ruby’s secret to Martin Fowler (James Bye).

As Ruby is convinced she will be receiving negative news because of “karma”, Jean reassures her that everybody makes mistakes, until Ruby drops the bombshell as to why Jean’s daughter Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) is in prison.

Admitting that she set Stacey up, Ruby tried to explain her reasons, but Jean disregarded her comments as her focus turned to her daughter.

Ruby later tracks Jean down to plead with her to keep quiet about her admission as she doesn’t want to ruin her romance with Martin – particularly after she had just received news that her operation was a success.

She had gone under the knife for an operation to give her another chance at having children, which could now happen, but her happy future is at risk due to what Jean now knows.

In an attempt to justify her actions, Ruby told Jean how Stacey had made her life a “living hell”, but Jean was having none of it and planned her next move.

Ultimately, she finds Ruby and says: “I’m not here to tell [Martin], I’m here to tell you: I don’t want your ‘sorry’. I don’t want your money I want you to do the right thing.

“I thought I knew you Ruby. I don’t. Neither does Martin. So, I’m off to see Sean tonight, and by the time I get back you need to have told Martin the truth.

“Or believe me, I will.”

It comes after Ruby accused Stacey of shoving her down the stairs and deliberately causing her miscarriage, though Stacey had nothing to do with the fall.

Ruby later said she would call and get the charged against Stacey dropped, which she later confessed she didn’t do.

Her plans to send Stacey to prison also caused a strain on Stacey’s relationship with Martin, who told Stacey at the time: “Ruby is my wife. She’d have been a mother and all, if it weren’t for you.”

However, it looks like with Ruby’s confession, Stacey could be returning to Albert Square imminently, but will she be able to repair her friendship with Martin?
