Emmerdale fans were left confused on Wednesday night after Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) easily figured it out that Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) was the one who had broken into the pub and knocked her out.
Charity was in hospital after being left with a bleed on the brain, and made it clear to Cain that she knew it had been him.
But fans couldn’t quite believe how quickly she had appeared to have recovered.
One person tweeted: “Even Charity has worked it out quicker than Swirling… disaster.”
Another wrote: “Yeah I forgot Charity can see in the dark.”
A third said: “For someone who’s got a bleed on the brain, Charity has soon sussed it was Cain.”
A fourth added: “Charity knows it was Cain that robbed the pub. Quite clever to say she was knocked out.”
While someone else joked: “David was only in hospital for four days after being shot in the stomach at point blank range, Charity should be up and sprinting back to the village by now.”
Charity confronted Cain when he came to visit her at the hospital and made it clear she wasn’t going to tell Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) – although that soon changed after the landlady started to pry.
She told Cain: “You were helping Chas out, that’s fine by me. I could’ve done without you knocking me out but free cups of tea… plus, you’re gonna get me £5,000… £2,000?”
Cain made it clear he wouldn’t be giving her a penny.
Charity went on: “A sorry wouldn’t go amis, but I know that’s not gonna happen.
“I will let you off if… does Chas know about this? Didn’t think so. Well guess who doesn’t know about me and Kilty?”
Charity has been getting close to Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) recently, but has been keeping it a secret.
Eventually, Chas came in to see Charity, believing that it was Al who had broken into the pub.
Charity told her: “He was really out of shape and he stank really bad, it definitely wasn’t Al. I know Al. I don’t like Al but Al does not breath like an asthmatic bulldog, does he?”
Cain grimaced as Charity made the subtle digs, before she eventually came clean and they told Chas everything.
However she told them she would not be going down for it alone if she got in trouble.
It seems another classic Dingle storyline is on its way.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays, on ITV
